Big Updates Coming Soon!

Hi everybody,

I know it’s been quite some time since posting here on the website (I do remain quite active on the Daily Paws Pet Care Facebook Page – – so keep current there if you have a Facebook account!) but I’ve got some big changes and updates planned for the website over the next couple weeks. For the past year, I’ve done very little advertising for new clients. I’m lucky with the awesome steady client pool that I have! I’m losing a couple of my long-time steady clients soon though to out-of-state moves and other situations, so I’ll be looking to replace them and possibly take on a couple more new families as well. I’m really hoping to stick close to the Battle Ground area, so please share my business with your local friends that may need a reliable and trustworthy pet sitter!

Take care and, as always, thank you for your business!   ~Rachel

Declawing cats: a brutal practice

If you’ve ever considered declawing your cat, read up on the practice first. The procedure involves the amputation of the toe bone at the last knuckle, the equivalent to having each of your fingers cut off at the last joint. This is a seriously painful mutilation of the patient and often causes increased aggression and/or litter box misuse. Research alternatives and don’t risk your pet’s health for your convenience!

Thank you to all my loyal clients!

Hey everybody,

I just want to post a huge thank you to all my loyal clients that have helped me build this little business of mine. I love all of your animals and am so grateful that you’ve chosen to trust me with your animals’ care and well-being whenever you are away. I wouldn’t be here without all of you out there continuing to use my services.

My business is continuing to grow and evolve. I’m thinking I want to re-focus my efforts on in-client-home care this coming year so that I can focus my home-time on really getting our house into shape. I plan to still accept current boarding clients, just won’t actively seek new ones. I look forward to continuing with all my in-home clients and hopefully finding some new ones as well!

Here’s looking forward to a wonderful 2013!

Meet Riley

For those of you who haven’t met her, this is Riley-dog. She’s my own personal pet and is absolutely amazing. I fall in love with her more and more every day. I love her personality, her sweet temperament, her spunk. We adopted Riley nearly 4 years ago and she’s definitely got a forever home here!

Please book your pet sitting requests as early as possible!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to push a little reminder to please book your pet sitting and boarding requests as early as possible. We’re getting pretty well booked up for Spring Break and already some summer vacation stuff as well as a few Holiday 2012 requests already. If you know your vacation dates, put in your request! It’s never too early!  :-)

It is very helpful to me to know when my clients are going to need me the most! Thanks,

Felt I had to share …

An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard.
I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.

He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head. He then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.

The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour. This continued off and on for several weeks.

Curious I pinned a note to his collar: ‘I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.’

The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar:

‘He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 – he’s trying to catch up on his sleep.
Can I come with him tomorrow?’
